For over two decades I lived with severe Asthma. A lot happened in those decades but to be honest most of it is a blur.

What I remember is the struggle to breathe , the exhaustion, the pain , the irritation and anger. The feeling that I wasn’t present for my daughters as I should have been.

Even if you are not living with anything quite so dramatic How you breathe is no small matter. It colours your view and experience of life .

Many years ago a Korean friend had told me that they believed all of us born with a certain number of breaths and so we must careful not spend them all in a hurry…
We had laughed then as I was fast talker and tended to get excited about things 🙂

Now as I explore yoga and healing I realise there is some truth in it. We may not have fixed number of breaths but research shows that breathing slowly and breathing less can actually improve your health. And longevity.

Our breath holds the key to our wellbeing . Changing our breath can literally change our lives .
